2027 Will Be Adam Copeland’s Final Year as a Pro Wrestler

October 15, 2026

Adam Copeland, better known as Edge, announced that 2027 would be his final year as a professional wrestler.

During the October 14, 2026 edition of AEW Dynamite, Copeland took everyone by surprise after his match by announcing that he was getting older and that he would retire in 2027. It would be his very last year as a wrestler, across all promotions.

There is currently no date set for when Adam Copeland’s final match in 2027 will take place. A match that could happen early in the year, or toward the end of the year.

In any case, by August 2026 Copeland had already stated that AEW was the place where he wanted to retire. A statement driven by his love for AEW and by the attitude and enthusiasm of the people behind the scenes.

An estimate of the final match?

Adam Copeland’s contract with AEW was originally due to expire in October 2026, but a leg injury and filming commitments extended the contract to an unknown date to the public. So it’s impossible to provide an estimate of when this contract might end that could indicate the potential month of his final match.

The upcoming information will be monitored to determine whether he will stage a farewell tour or just a single match.
