– Tonight it’s WWE NXT, the yellow brand show kicks off with the wrestlers arriving for the opening match.
Weaponized Steel Cage
Saquon Shugars vs Dion Lennox
Towards the end of the match, Shugars blasts Lennox with his baseball bat. Shugars places Lennox on a table and puts a trash can on his head. Shugars delivers a Superkick and the table breaks on its own. Shugars climbs to the top of the cage and hits a Cross Body to Lennox for the three-count.
Winner: Saquon Shugars
– Backstage, Blake Howard asks Tony D’Angelo for comments on the latest events. D’Angelo says he dominates PLE after PLE. His rivals seem to have forgotten that he is the only Grand Slam champion in NXT. Governor Oba Femi is having fun on RAW, but he is the first to have defeated him. Grayson Waller has returned to NXT for prestige. Cruz Montana left TNA for his title. Zilla Fatu decided to come for his title rather than joining The Bloodline. D’Angelo says he beat three men to become champion, and he will beat three men to remain champion.
– In a pre-recorded segment, the Vanity Project are seen enjoying a bowling moment for an interview with Sarah. The Vanity Project lays out that they share such a strong bond that they are like brothers. At Heatwave, it’s time for them to reclaim the titles.
– Nattie is in the ring. Nattie says she came to NXT to face Jaida Parker. She saw something unique in Parker. Parker has the look and the talent. But she also saw potential wasted. Parker has dropped a few matches and she has grown comfortable. So she exposed Parker for who she was. That gave Parker a renewed push to rediscover who she is. Nattie says she gave her best asset: her attention. Jaida Parker’s music hits and she makes her way to the ring. Jaida Parker says that since Nattie’s arrival she wants to prove what she said, but really that isn’t true. Yes she has lost matches and she took it hard. Yes Nattie has a career and a résumé, but Nattie doesn’t do this out of kindness. Parker says Nattie tried to break her and she should thank her because she has realized who she is. She doesn’t need Nattie’s acceptance or to be her friend. In fact, it’s Nattie who should thank her for regaining attention. Nattie says this is finally the Jaida Parker she has been waiting to see. She doesn’t want a regular match against Parker; she wants a Submission Match at Heatwave! Parker says that if Nattie wants it, she’ll get it. Nattie may be a legend, but she’s going to wipe her out.
Singles Match
Kam Hendrix vs Keanu Carver
At the end of the match, Carver drives Hendrix out of the ring with a Pounce! Carver intends to pull him back onto the ring, but Hendrix blinds him with a finger in the eyes. The referee attends to Carver. Mason Rook arrives at ringside and hits Hendrix to send him back onto the ring. Carver finishes with a Suplex on Hendrix for the three-count.
Winner: Keanu Carver
– A video is shown featuring Zilla Fatu. Zilla Fatu says that when this story ends, his first name will be more popular than his surname. He will get the chance to become champion in his first match, and he will seize it.
Singles Match
If Armstrong beats Zaria she will be added to the Heatwave Speed and North American Championship match.
Zaria vs Kali Armstrong
At the end of the match, Armstrong dodges a Spear and hits a PowerSlam. Armstrong goes for her Kali Connection, but Zaria blocks it with a Spear! Zaria climbs back up for a F5, but Armstrong reverses it into a quick cover for the victory!
Winner: Kali Armstrong
– Backstage, the doctor warns Kendal Grey to be careful with her ear; she could become deaf if she takes more blows. The doctor confirms she has the green light for Heatwave despite it all. Kendal Grey says she will do whatever it takes to defend the title.
8-Man Tag Team Match
BirthRight (Lexis King, Stacks, Charlie Dempsey and Uriah Connors) vs Sean Legacy, Noam Dar, Romeo Moreno and Dorian Van Dux
Towards the end of the match, Dar wants to force Dempsey to submit with an Arm Bar, but Connors blocks the submission with a Swanton Bomb. Legacy hits a Spanish Fly on Connors to send him back. Stacks lands a Springboard Elbow on Legacy to push him away. Van Dux grabs Stacks and slams him in an attempt to push him away. King hits a Blockbuster on Dux to send him retreating. Moreno hits a Running Kick on King to push him away. Moreno charges at the BirthRight members on the ringside area. Legacy delivers a Slingshot Springboard as well. In the ring, Dempsey avoids a strike from Dar and retaliates with a Suplex for the three-count.
Winners: BirthRight
– Backstage, Robert Stone warns the referees to be ready for the NXT Summit tonight. Keanu Carver arrives and Stone tells him he cheated. Carver says a win is a win and the referee’s decision is final. Stone is speechless. Shiloh Hill appears and says he wants a match against Naraku for causing a title match. Stone confirms the match for NXT next week.
AAA Cruiserweight Championship – Singles Match
Rey Fenix (champion) vs EK Prosper
Towards the end of the match, Fenix kicks Prosper to knock him onto the apron. Fenix climbs to the corner, but Prosper rises and strikes him. Prosper manages to hit a Super Rana from the top rope! Prosper climbs to the top and goes for a Moonsault, but Fenix avoids it. Fenix hits him with a Running Kick and hoists him to the top for a Mexican Muscle Buster for the three-count.
Winner: Rey Fenix
– After the match, Rey Fenix congratulates Prosper for the performance.
– Backstage, we find Tavion Heights and Myles Borne. Heights says that if the tag-team match is first at Heatwave, Borne can stay on the apron and handle the majority of the work. Borne says he is mentally ready for both matches, no need for rest even if the tag-team match is first. Hank and Tank arrive and say they are back after a film. After Heatwave, they would like a chance at the tag titles. Heights replies that they take things one at a time and they will see after.
– The commentators present the card for NXT Heatwave, which will take place this Sunday; card and times here on Catch-Newz.
– The ring is surrounded by security for this Summit. Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair step onto the ring. Grey says she has heard all of Kelani Jordan’s remarks; it’s true she has a lot of talent but she loves to complain. Last year, no one knew who Kendal Grey was even though she was the Evolve champion. Today she has added to her résumé with the Iron Survivor Challenge and the NXT title. She didn’t need to defend her title against a future Hall of Famer, but she did. She didn’t need to compete in an Underground match, but she did. She didn’t need to fight through an injury, but she isn’t a champion who avoids defending her title for 100 days. At Heatwave the target is on her back and Jordan would be wise not to miss.
Kelani Jordan enters. Jordan says that at Heatwave she will only need one shot to hit the target. On Sunday she will take the Grey title and send it back to the sidelines. Sinclair adds that they will be in her hometown, so they will celebrate the victory. Zaria arrives and says it’s cute but it’s false. Zaria says it doesn’t matter how many family members or friends Sinclair brings, she will still lose. Kali Armstrong arrives and says she has already defeated both one after another. So she will bring the two titles home after Heatwave.
Grayson Waller’s music hits and he comes to the ring. Waller says they are beautiful to look at but hard to hear. It’s nice to see the girls he spoke about, but he is taking over. They were the highlight of NXT, but he is back; he is NXT. At Heatwave they will perform well, but the world will not talk about the girls or the AAA losers; Catch-Newz fans will talk about Waller who defeated his demons to become NXT Champion. Tony D’Angelo arrives. D’Angelo says Waller came to NXT to reinvent himself, but it does not matter if it’s version 3.0, 4.0 or 5.0, because Waller will do the same thing as always: be a disappointment. The music of Cruz Montana hits and he arrives through the crowd. Cruz Montana says that it’s true that NXT is dysfunctional, but he likes it that way. The difference between him and the others is that they came here to talk and he fights.
Cruz Montana steps to the ringside and starts striking security. A brawl erupts all over the ring; chaos ensues.
Zilla Fatu arrives and launches himself with a Cross Body at ringside onto all the wrestlers. The show ends with Fatu posing with the NXT title.
