In 2023, Jamie Hayter spent more than a year away from the ring due to a serious back injury. She made her return at All In 2024, in her home country. Recently speaking with the BBC, Hayter explained how the back injury ultimately helped her come back to the squared circle with a stronger mindset.
Jamie Hayter said:
“The worst part was the early months. I lived in uncertainty, with the pain at its peak, and I was stuck in bed. At best, I could get up, feed my cats, fix myself a coffee, and then crawl back into bed. I felt depressed, thinking I wasn’t accomplishing anything, that nothing was happening in my life, and it was hard to see any positive outcome.”
“Those weeks stretched on like years. It pushed me to return with a better attitude for wrestling than before—calmer, and more sure of what was worth getting angry about.”
This Sunday at All In, Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor will take on Lena Kross and Megan Bayne for the AEW women’s tag team championships.
