Tonight, Kevin Owens is focused: he knows what he has to do. In the main event of SmackDown on August 28, 2026, three of the roster’s most talented men clash to earn the No.1 contender spot for CM Punk’s world title. Which of Kevin Owens, Gunther, or Finn Balor will walk away with the victory?
Gunther wasted no time, attacking Finn Balor during his entrance. Kevin Owens hammered away at the Austrian before The Prince retaliated. This triple threat already promised to be huge. After brutal exchanges, the three men found themselves on the mat. Between arm drags and clotheslines, Gunther showed no mercy to his opponents. Each man had his moment of glory in Ottawa.
But just as Finn Balor was about to win the match, Sami Zayn interrupted the fall by attacking the referee, to the boos of the crowd. A second referee arrived, but Sami knocked him down without hesitation. The WWE Champion came in turn to attack Zayn, but the latter would have the last word. The former world champion attacked all his rivals with the belt and literally sabotaged the main event. “If I don’t get this title, nobody will,” he said, before celebrating in the center of the ring with the WWE belt. Sami Zayn fully embraces his heel side, and the SmackDown main event picture becomes more complex…
