Spoiler: CM Punk Returns in a Title Match Against Johnny Gargano

We haven’t seen Johnny Gargano wrestling very often this year. In 2026, there have been only seven matches so far, the most recent dating back to April, during the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. But a title match was enough to spark Gargano.

Regarding SmackDown, Johnny Gargano made a big return to the ring. Indeed, CM Punk proposed to grant him a title match in Cleveland, at home, and Gargano suddenly rose to accept. The title defense took place in the Main Event of the Blue Brand show, which will be broadcast on September 4.
