Adam Copeland’s opponent for Northern Rising is Steve Maclin.
It all began when Steve Maclin recently made his MLP debut by declaring that Canada wasn’t capable of producing stars, or that Canadians had to come to the United States to become one.
On social media, Copeland had claimed that he drank Molson and maple syrup like a real Canadian and that he would prove it to him at Northern Rising. During MLP Mayhem on September 2, Maclin accepted the challenge.

For reference, Adam Copeland had announced his MLP debut for Northern Rising. He had aimed to stage a match at the Maple Leaf Garden in Toronto, the venue where he first watched wrestling. MLP had announced a show at that arena, so Copeland automatically joined the project.
So it will be Copeland versus Maclin for the honor of the Canadians at Northern Rising on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
