The CMLL has decided to enlist its allies from AEW and NJPW to take on AAA TripleMania 34.
Indeed, the CMLL’s Sunday show on Sunday, September 13, 2026 will now feature matches involving wrestlers from AEW, NJPW, and Stardom. The usual Sunday show becomes an international-flavored event for CMLL.
As noted by Catch-Newz, AAA TripleMania 34 will occur on September 11 in the United States and the second night on September 13 in Mexico. An event at Arena CDMX, located about thirty minutes from Arena Mexico, which hosts CMLL’s Sunday shows. A direct clash for Mexican fans who will have to choose between WWE/AAA’s product and that of CMLL.
This week, CMLL announced its lineup for September 13 in order to attract as many fans as possible; here is the card currently announced:
- Mistico and “Speedball” Mike Bailey vs Kevin Knight and Averno
- Hechicero and Esfinge vs Zack Sabre Jr. and Bad Dude Tito
- Titan and Soberano Jr. vs Bandido and Komander
- AEW vs Stardom vs CMLL : Megan Bayne and Lena Kross vs Maika and Starlight Kid vs Persephone and Olympia
It’s not new to see CMLL and AAA in competition, a tradition that has existed almost since the outset. But it is new to witness a CMLL and AAA show so close to each other in Mexico since WWE’s acquisition of AAA.
Apparently, CMLL does not want to be stepped on and is turning its Sunday show into a special event.
