Omos Demolishes Rey Mysterio in TripleMania 34 Night 1 Main Event

At the end of a dazzling opening night of TripleMania 34, a high-stakes main event unfolded in Las Vegas. Omos, accompanied by Dominik Mysterio, would face the legendary luchador Rey Mysterio, who was backed by El Grande Americano. If the giant loses this bout, he will be banished from AAA for good…

The two men boasted a height difference of 53 centimeters. A victory seemed out of reach for the veteran. Rey Mysterio taunted his opponent from the opening moments, slipping away with ease. But as soon as the Nigerian unleashed the first strike, the task grew more difficult for the former WWE Champion. Omos relentlessly pounded the legend outside the ring, with his wife watching from ringside.

Omos began weakening Rey with the bear hug. Encouraged by the crowd, Mysterio managed to escape the submission hold. For many minutes, the match was one-sided in Las Vegas: the Hall of Famer could not find a solution. Then Omos found himself trapped in the ropes: the perfect opportunity to strike. While the referee helped Omos, Dominik took advantage to attack his father. El Grande Americano intervened.

From behind the referee, Rey Mysterio delivered a chair shot to the giant to weaken him. He then landed numerous 619s as well as a splash in an attempt to defeat the Nigerian, but these moves were not enough. Distracted by the outside brawl between his son and El Grande Americano, Rey was taken down by an Omos chokeslam: the giant pins the shoulders of the general manager, thus preserving his position in AAA.

After the match, Omos did not hesitate to target Rey Mysterio, before turning toward the locker room. While the legendary luchador was about to be carted away on a stretcher, the giant spun back to assault the masked wrestler. Omos pulverized Rey Mysterio through the announcers’ table in a shocking scene… In 48 hours, Dominik Mysterio will defend his Mega Championship of AAA against El Grande Americano. With Omos in his corner, the champion will hold the advantage.
