– Tonight it’s WWE SmackDown, Nick Aldis welcomes the audience. The General Manager introduces the new WWE Champion Sami Zayn. He is far from unanimous, entering to boos. He is all smiles, despite Corpus Christi’s hostile reception. The Canadian speaks and verbally attacks Nick. Sami is convinced Aldis is not happy that he is champion. Zayn is surprised by the crowd’s reaction, and continues to talk about “justice”.
– While Sami continued to raise his voice against the GM, Johnny Gargano made his entrance alongside his partner Candice LeRae. The two friends embraced. The champion thanks Johnny and Candice, but Gargano demanded a title opportunity as Zayn had promised him. The Canadian tries to dodge this championship match.
– Kevin Owens enters in turn: Sami Zayn’s sworn foe has a cold gaze and also wants his shot. KO believes he deserves a title opportunity, but Candice steps in. Without wasting a moment, Kevin delivers a stunner to Johnny Wrestling. Given Kevin’s attack on Punk last week, Nick Aldis cannot grant him this championship match… But given Sami’s behavior, the blue brand’s general manager has granted a championship match for Kevin Owens. Tonight’s SmackDown main event will see Sami Zayn defend his world title against his friend. The three men were chasing their spot for New Orleans. During the match, Lil Yachty attempted to intervene against Randy Orton, but the Viper shoved the rapper off the commentators’ table. Trick Williams effectively countered Rey Fenix’s aerial and technical moves. While Randy Orton had executed a sensational RKO on the luchador, the United States Champion opportunistically neutralized the Viper with his Trick Shot, and stole the pin for the 3-count.

– Bumped into by Kevin Owens’ stunner in the backstage area, Johnny Gargano was joined by a furious Sami Zayn. The Canadian tries to manipulate him once more.
– Tama Tonga speaks, accompanied by Talla Tonga and Haku. He warns his opponents for the evening: Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki. The Bakusai duo is ready to face the MFTS. The titles are not on the line this Friday.
– In the backstage area, Tatum Paxley and Charlotte Flair still do not seem to be on the same page. Alexa Bliss tries to stay focused for her Money in the Bank qualifying match.

Bokusai (Kyoki & Shinsuke Nakamura) vs MFT (Tama Tonga & Talla Tonga) accompanied by Haku
Throughout the match, the MFTs asserted dominance and had a solid plan to trouble the Japanese veterans. But as Shinsuke Nakamura began to swing the momentum, Haku attacked the former Intercontinental Champion, causing a disqualification. The MFTs continued their assault on Kyoki, before celebrating with their belts.
Winners: Bokusai (by disqualification)
– Kevin Owens speaks before his championship match. He hopes to beat Sami Zayn to become the undisputed WWE Champion. Finn Balor confronted the eventual challenger afterward. The Irishman wished the Canadian good luck.
– Nick Aldis congratulates Chelsea Green for her title defense last week against Nia Jax. Tiffany Stratton tells her friend that she will participate in a Money in the Bank qualifying match. The Canadian was confronted by Nikki Bella — the Hall of Famer wants the WWE Championship.
– Cody Rhodes was interviewed by Michael Cole. The American Nightmare won’t look for excuses after his painful defeat against Randy Orton. The commentator stirs the pot by claiming that all his friends turned their backs on him. Cody sees himself as the “voice of WWE.” He recalled his impressive résumé since returning in 2022, but he must change, and he won’t be fooled again by his mentor, Randy Orton.
– Jade Cargill, flanked by B-Fab and Michin, prepares for her Money in the Bank qualifying match. The Atlanta native asserts that she will leave New Orleans on October 10 with the briefcase. But first, she must win this match this Friday night.
Money in the Bank Qualifying Match – Triple Threat
Jade Cargill vs Jacy Jayne vs Alexa Bliss
Hooed by the crowd, Jade Cargill appeared arrogant during the match. Alexa Bliss could not perform to her liking: as the more experienced in the ring, she was targeted by both opponents. While the former world champion had connected with her “Jaded” on Alexa Bliss, the United States Champion Jacy Jayne also played the ultimate opportunist by stealing the pin at the last moment. The Fatal Influence leader will be in this ladder match!

– The two Money in the Bank qualifying matches for Friday were revealed: CM Punk, Gunther and Finn Balor will clash on the men’s side, and on the women’s side, Charlotte Flair, Giulia and Lash Legend will try to secure their tickets to New Orleans.
