It’s been a few months now since we learned that Sheamus is no longer with WWE, having decided not to accept the company’s offer to reduce his salary and letting his contract expire.
As mentioned on Catch-Newz, the WWE contract end date was October 1, 2026. So Sheamus was simply waiting for that date to embark on a new venture, and here we are on October 1.
Fightful confirms that AEW has an interest in Sheamus, according to internal sources. There is also backing coming from several AEW wrestlers who are in favor of seeing him join the roster.
As a veteran, someone like Sheamus certainly comes with a hefty salary, and there are few wrestling companies that can afford such an addition within their payroll. AEW undoubtedly ranks among the companies able to add Sheamus to its roster.
At the moment, there is no confirmation that Sheamus has already signed with AEW. The only information is that AEW is interested in the wrestler.
The next updates regarding Sheamus will be watched closely. Moreover, even he has not officially confirmed whether he intends to continue wrestling.
