Since her first steps in early August on SmackDown, Tatum Paxley has consistently kept a smile on the blue brand.
And for a reason: she is alongside two of the WWE’s biggest female wrestlers: Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Recently invited on Busted Open Radio, the former NXT Women’s Champion spoke about her feelings during her debut on the main roster.
She states :
“The last time I spoke to you [Tatum addresses the Busted Open commentators], I told you that what mattered most to me was the bond I forge with the audience. And there you are, for my first SmackDown appearance, you never really know how it’s going to go. But they kept telling me over and over: ‘You never know how they’ll react.’ We don’t know, it could go in one direction or the other, whatever happens, there’s no need to worry.
And me, for a reason I can’t explain, I kept thinking: “I know people will be enthusiastic, and not just because it’s me, but because it will be me with Charlotte and Alexa.” And then, the whole presentation of all this is so cool and exciting. You think: “But what’s happening? Who’s going to come on stage?” And simply seeing that reaction made me feel: “Okay, I’m still on the right track. I always manage to create a connection with these people, even at first glance. And now, my job is to keep going and move things forward. And yes, I was up there, with that big, unbridled smile on my face. It was sincere.”
Despite not qualifying for the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, fans know that Tatum Paxley will keep smiling: her time will come.
