Big E has spoken about his friends who are in AEW.
Big E, Kofi, and Austin Creed (Xavier Woods) once formed a trio in WWE under the banner The New Day, but a neck injury forced Big E to step away from competition. He now serves as an analyst for WWE, while Kofi and Creed have taken the path toward AEW.
This week, Big E sat down for an interview with OzarksFirst and he stated that he is genuinely proud to see his friends finding success in AEW. He also emphasizes that their relationship is stronger than a mere job or just colleagues:
“We have built bonds that, I am convinced, go beyond the scope of a simple job or company. And above all, I will always support these guys, no matter which road they choose to take, and I am incredibly proud of them.
Sometimes, you know, you’re in these roles, doing these jobs, and you meet people for a season. And that season can be wonderful, enriching, and so meaningful. Austin and I were in our twenties when we first launched The New Day. Kofi was just entering his thirties. Now, we’re all in our forties. You know, a lot of time has passed.”
A heartfelt testament that confirms their bond remains strong despite the paths they’ve taken.
Only the future will tell whether they will ever reunite in the same company again.
