A question that had remained unanswered… until today. Fightful has weighed in on the matter and confirms that Danielson’s return was not planned and was solely for this special Dynamite episode.
Danielson decided to come out of retirement to take part in this show along with other wrestlers. Their source also confirms that there is no indication or plan to see him regularly on upcoming AEW programs. One should not forget that Kenny Omega had also made the trip all the way from Japan specifically to participate in the event. The same goes for Mercedes Moné, who returned from injury for the night.
It should not be forgotten that Bryan Danielson had decided to retire from AEW as a wrestler due to recurring neck pain. A full-time return would still be impossible for him.
