Jim Ross has undergone brain surgery for a second time.
The AEW commentator was operated on to correct a brain shunt, meaning an adjustment to lower the intracranial pressure that he continued to endure after the first operation.
Jim Ross underwent the procedure last week and has not provided updates since. However, his podcast co-host, Conrad, confirmed on Twitter that the operation went well and that Jim Ross was in recovery.
I just heard GREAT NEWS from @JRsBBQ’s daughter:
Procedure went well. He is in recovery right now. Will hopefully be heading home around 3.
🙏 ❤️

As noted by Catch-Newz, the aim of the operation was to improve his quality of life and address his memory or speech difficulties. Jim Ross had confirmed seeing improvements in these areas following the first operation.
His return to AEW remains something to monitor.
