The WWE had kept a low profile regarding its upcoming PLE ”Crown Jewel” during Money in the Bank 2026. Yet the company is usually quick to promote its next special show, but not this time.
However, during WWE RAW on October 12, 2026, WWE confirmed the Crown Jewel event would go ahead on November 7, 2026 in Saudi Arabia, in the city of Riyadh. Indeed, WWE announced an opening match pitting Chelsea Green against Liv Morgan to crown the next Crown Jewel champion, the upcoming supreme WWE champion.
A development that could come as a surprise given that last week Riyadh’s airport was the target of a bombing and the alert level has never been as high in the region in recent years. The American embassy currently advises Americans to avoid the airport due to safety concerns. One can read in the statement :
”The American diplomatic mission is aware of attacks at Riyadh’s King Khaled International Airport on October 10 and strongly urges all American citizens to avoid this airport as well as its surroundings. U.S. government employees working in Saudi Arabia must obtain special authorization to use Riyadh’s King Khaled International Airport, just as the airports in Jeddah and Dammam. Please exercise extreme caution when using all major airports in Saudi Arabia.”
Moreover, Riyadh’s airport has remained closed since. As previously mentioned on Catch-Newz, it has been confirmed that WWE is evaluating the security situation for its roster.
All signs point to WWE being confident that the situation will improve by November 7, 2026.
