What Are the Origins of the Sol Snatcher?

October 14, 2026

Sol Ruca’s finishing move is arguably the most impressive in WWE.

No one can withstand it: the Sol Snatcher has helped its wielder clinch numerous major victories. A rotating, high-flying maneuver from the corner of the ring that can KO any opponent. But how did Sol come up with this finishing move? In an appearance on the Busted Open podcast last month, the former Intercontinental Champion revealed the origins of the Sol Snatcher.

She states :

“ I wanted something that felt uniquely mine, something I could use against anyone, something I could perform with anyone, whether it was at the beginning or the end of a match. I didn’t want to rely on lifting someone or anything of that nature. So I thought it through and I wanted a finishing move that would nod to my gymnastics past.

And there’s a gymnast’s move I used to perform, called “straddleback.” It’s a move I did on the uneven bars and, instead of grabbing the bars, I now grab people. And it’s basically the same thing. It’s like a “reverse gainer.” That’s essentially where it comes from.”

As she had promised, Zaria’s former ally managed to land her Sol Snatcher from the ladder on Roxanne Perez during Money in the Bank last weekend. Hoping that this move will help her win many more major titles on WWE’s main roster. Do you remember the most beautiful Sol Snatcher you’ve seen?
