R-Truth Suffers Real Injury on SmackDown on October 16

October 17, 2026

The match between R-Truth and Damian Priest was not supposed to end this way on SmackDown, October 16, 2026.

R-Truth delivered a Missile Drop Kick to Damian Priest and was unable to rise immediately after executing the move. The referee decided to end the match.

Fightful confirms that the initial plan was for R-Truth to win the bout. A lucky victory that would anger Damian Priest, and that was supposed to be followed by Priest attacking R-Truth after the match. This would have led to Fraxiom coming to R-Truth’s aid.

Ultimately, the match ended abruptly and Damian Priest chose to follow the storyline by retrieving a chair and provoking Fraxiom’s arrival.

The good news is that R-Truth left the ring under his own power. He received medical help to walk, but did not require a stretcher. WWE has yet to comment on the matter, with further updates to monitor the veteran’s health.
