Absent from WWE RAW since July 27, 2026, Rusev made his return at a Live Event in Hawaii this weekend.
Indeed, he competed in his first match since his injury-related absence. He wrestled Joe Hendry in his opening bout, which he lost. He then took part in a tag team match alongside Ethan Page, which they lost to Rey Mysterio and Chad Gable.

It was on RAW on July 27 when Rusev faced Je’Von Evans. Following the match, Rusev quickly exited the ring to seek medical assistance backstage.
Rusev or WWE have not yet commented on the nature of the injury. On his podcast, his wife CJ Perry (Lana) simply stated that Rusev was in pain after that match.
In recent weeks, Rusev had resumed training at Natalya and Tyson Kidd’s school, and also at the Performance Center where WWE doctors gave him clearance to return to action. Now that he is officially back, his return on the red show alongside Ethan Page should not be long in coming.
