Buddy Matthews Cancels His Australian Tour

October 25, 2026

Buddy Matthews was slated to participate in World Series shows in Australia and New Zealand from October 29 to November 2, 2026, but everything has been canceled.

Indeed, World Series announced that due to a scheduling conflict Buddy Matthews must cancel his appearance for all the shows. A disappointing development for fans back home, especially since in May he had attacked Dijak to establish a rivalry.

The promotion posted on its social media:

”We have just learned that due to a scheduling conflict, Buddy Matthews will not be able to participate in the WSW MEGAMANIA tour.

We are very disappointed that Buddy won’t be with us this time, but we completely understand that schedules can change.

We hope to welcome Buddy Matthews back to World Series Wrestling on a future tour!”

This information hints that AEW has decided to pull him from the show. It should be remembered that AEW wrestlers are allowed to take dates on the independent circuit, but those dates must not interfere with AEW’s schedule.

Buddy Matthews’ return remains a matter to watch. Last August, Matthews had confirmed that he had received medical clearance and was ready to come back. He had suffered an ankle injury in February 2025.

Does this mean he will return this week on AEW Dynamite? Or did the company want to keep his return exclusive? Or is it a scheduling conflict outside AEW? These are questions that currently have no answers.
