Gunther had been at a crossroads.
The WWE creatives didn’t seem to give him much attention, despite his “Career Killer” gimmick from early 2026. With what happened last night, things look brighter given the upcoming program against Finn Balor. In the Something to Wrestle podcast, the WWE legend JBL praised Gunther.
He states :
« I think Gunther would be the man for the job. I find Gunther to be a very good “heel,” and I think he understands what it means to be a “heel.” Gunther, I think this guy is world-class. »
JBL also argued that the Austrian should be in the main event picture. While on this edition of SmackDown, Gunther once again went after Danhausen: a substantial challenge will give him a chance to rebound. Indeed, the Ring General was confronted by the Demon Finn Balor in Charleston on October 30.
