Summary of AEW Dynamite for August 26, 2026

– Tonight it’s AEW Dynamite, the show opens with the commentators welcoming us and Will Ospreay entering the ring to a roaring ovation from the fans. Ospreay says it’s been a year since they spoke due to his injury. There have been ups and downs during this absence. He didn’t know if he could return and he didn’t know if, upon returning, he could still win the big match. People keep asking him what it feels like to have a title match in his homeland. To understand it, you have to come from the United Kingdom. Long before NJPW and AEW, it started here. He toured cities all across the United Kingdom. From Friday to Sunday he stepped into the ring. He looked at his bank account and it wasn’t enough to pay the bills. So on Monday morning he went to work.
Ospreay says he did all of this with the objective of representing the country’s fans. To prove that the United Kingdom is truly the place where the best wrestlers perform. He learned from the icons of British wrestling and he wants to pay tribute to them tonight. Ospreay lists names that have marked his early career. He says they did all of this with the aim of finding out whether he could be the best. The best is shown with the AEW World Championship. Kenny Omega isn’t here tonight, but he knows Omega is watching from home. There is no one else who has as much respect for Omega as he does. But all the respect he once had for Omega vanished when Omega mentioned his son. He has made a promise to everyone: Sunday Omega will experience the best of Will Ospreay. Sunday he will give him the match of his life. Sunday, he will leave memories that last forever in the stadium.
Ospreay says there is a debt that must be paid and it has waited too long. It’s time to bring the title home for his family and the fans. And Omega will help show his son that heroes are ordinary people who can do extraordinary things. On Sunday, he will take it all!
Continental Challenge Tournament – Semi-Final
Jon Moxley vs. Claudio Castagnoli
At the end of the bout, Castagnoli plants a Neutralizer on Moxley and covers, but he kicks out. Castagnoli hypes for an Uppercut, but Moxley crashes to the mat. Castagnoli lifts him for a Powerbomb, but Moxley blocks it and hits a Paradigm Shift for the cover, yet Castagnoli survives at two! Moxley follows up with a Stomp and a Death Rider on Castagnoli for the cover, but he kicks out again! Moxley then locks in the Bulldog Choke. Castagnoli fights, but eventually is forced to submit.
Winner: Jon Moxley by submission

Trios Match
Adam Copeland, Nick Jackson and Matt Jackson vs The Don Callis Family (Brian Cage, Jake Doyle and Rocky Romero)
Towards the end, the Bucks knock Doyle and Cage off the ring with Superkicks. Romero enters the ring and also takes two Superkicks. The Bucks leap in with a Cross Body onto Doyle and Cage at ringside. Copeland follows with his Spear on Romero for the three-count.
Winners: Adam Copeland, Nick Jackson and Matt Jackson
– After the match, Copeland and the Bucks celebrate, but Christian Cage’s music hits and he arrives. Cage says that now that the Love Fest is over, it’s time to listen to the Bucks. Cage says the Bucks should know that he doesn’t team with people beneath him. The Bucks are a level below him. He and Copeland are the kind of legends where you name matches after their performances and pay-per-views. This Sunday at All In, it isn’t a Dream Match for him, but just another day at the office. The Bucks will discover the difference between influence and legendary. Matt agrees, they have named matches and pay-per-views after them. But did they name a company after them? Last week, they gave Cage a Superkick by mistake, but if Cage talks like that again this week, it won’t be an accident. The two teams prepare for a face-off, Cage lands a Low Blow on Matt! Nick returns the favor with a Superkick, but Copeland nails Nick with a Spear!
– Willow Nightingale’s music hits, but no one answers. The backstage camera shifts to Mercedes Moné attacking Willow! Moné says this is her final Dynamite as champion and she’s here to take that last title away. After Sunday, that title will be gone for good.
