AEW Dynamite Norfolk, Virginia
Commentators are Tony Schiavone, Taz and Excalibur.
– Tonight it’s AEW Dynamite, the show opens with the commentators welcoming us and presenting the lineup for the evening.
– Behind the scenes, we find Adam Copeland, Darby Allin and Steven Borden. Adam Copeland says that Darby Allin has supported him since day one here. And he has been impressed by Steven Borden, he wants that to continue. Christian Cage arrives and says he is sorry for the loss of his father to Steven, the loss of a father as a wrestler. Allin says Cage can play his game as he wishes, but it’s not over. Cage says he understands that Allin is almost as recognized as his reign for the TNT title. They simply need to mind their own business and everything will be fine. Copeland agrees that everything will be fine.
– Behind the scenes, we find FTR and the Don Callis Family. Stokely Hathaway says that FTR will come out 12-time tag team champions by All Out. Cage and Copeland should worry about that. Don Callis says that after Fletcher and Knight’s victory over the Young Bucks, they should perhaps be the contenders. Hathaway says they will have to wait their turn behind them.
8-Man Tag Team Match
Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, Steven Borden and Darby Allin vs Kyle Fletcher, Kevin Knight, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler
Toward the end of the match, Harwood attempts to apply a Scorpion Death Lock, but Borden blocks and shoves him away. Cage blasts him with a chair as the referee has his back! Borden and Allin set up their double-team maneuver. Fletcher tries to intervene to stop Allin, but Cage pushes him aside. Borden and Allin deliver their Coffin Death Drop combo to Harwood for the pin.
Winners: Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, Steven Borden and Darby Allin
– Behind the scenes, the Death Riders are shown. Jon Moxley states that he’s impressed to see Will Ospreay come out to face him. Ospreay has achieved a lot this past year. He acknowledges how tough that road has been. He hopes Ospreay has learned the lesson during his time with them. He never asked Ospreay to follow him; he wanted to see Ospreay lead. Now Ospreay knows what will happen at All Out is on his shoulders. Gabe Kidd adds that Ospreay will already be in their match tonight, and they could hurt him now rather than wait for All Out. Pac adds that it’s them against the entire world and they won’t back down from Ospreay.
– We preview the rivalry between Divine Dominion and Brawling Birds for All Out.
– After the break, the wrestlers return to the ring.
Singles Match
Chris Jericho vs Nick Wayne
Toward the end of the match, Jericho drives Wayne into the corner and lands a Rana. Jericho goes for a Judas Effect, but Wayne evades and hits him with a corner cutter for a near fall, but Jericho powers out at two. They trade strikes. Jericho rips Wayne’s necklace to distract him, then yanks him to the mat for a Walls of Jericho attempt. Wayne counters, but Jericho rolls him up for a quick pin to win.
Winner: Chris Jericho
– After the match, Nick Wayne remains unsettled by the broken necklace. Jericho offers a handshake to congratulate him and lift his spirits, but Wayne refuses. Wayne then wraps the necklace around his hand and strikes Jericho in the head! Wayne grabs a chair and BP hits Jericho twice with it!
– The commentators announce that Mercedes Moné will not be able to defend her AEW title at All Out, but she will defend it at WrestleDream. At All Out, Willow Nightingale and Thekla will determine who will face Mercedes Moné at WrestleDream.
