AEW Dynamite — Indianapolis, Indiana
The commentators are Tony Schiavone, Taz and Excalibur.
– Tonight is AEW Dynamite, the show opens with the commentators welcoming us. They present the night’s lineup.
– Backstage, The Demand are here. Ricochet says that watching New Level makes him understand the division’s problem. He sees a faction trying to call themselves a team, but none of them are a real team. Ricochet says they are brothers in The Demand and they will come to capture the Trios titles thanks to their synergy.
– Backstage, The Level and Strickland are shown. Prince Nana says Kaun and Liona mustn’t forget who brought them here; it wasn’t Ricochet. Austin Creed states that tonight they crave revenge. Creed says Strickland was aligned with Kaun and Liona before Christian Cage decided to pay them to attack. And then Ricochet betrayed him as well. Kofi says that was in the past and tonight they will defend the tag titles to do it at All Out against King, Bandido and Page. Kofi lists everything Strickland has done to Page and Bandido. Creed asks if Strickland had friends in AEW before they arrived here?
AEW World Trios Championship – Trios Match
Swerve Strickland and New Level (c) (Kofi and Austin Creed) vs The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona)
Towards the end, Kaun and Liona double-team Kofi, hitting him with a two-man Slam for a near fall, but he kicks out at two. Kaun nails a Cutter on Kofi. Ricochet receives the tag for a 630 Senton and covers Kofi, but Strickland breaks the pin. Ricochet tosses Strickland out to the floor. Kofi takes advantage and tags Strickland back in. Strickland delivers a Flatliner to Toa Liona, though she doesn’t fall. Creed hits a Flatliner on Liona with similar effect. Creed follows with a DDT to Liona, Strickland completes with a 450 Splash for the cover, but Ricochet breaks the count with a 450 Splash of his own. Kofi makes the save and hits a Trouble in Paradise on Ricochet, but Liona blocks with a Headbutt. The wrestlers exchange moves back and forth. Kofi thwarts Ricochet with a last-second Trouble in Paradise. Kofi looks to set up an SOS, but Liona blocks again; Strickland hits a House Call to assist in rotation, and the three count is achieved by the champions.
Winners: Swerve Strickland and New Level
– After the match, Adam Page, Brody King and Bandido come to the ring for a face-off with the winners. Page says he came out here to congratulate the Trios champions. New Level and Strickland work well together, and he’s genuinely happy to see Kofi and Creed here. But he doesn’t think New Level knows who they’re teaming with. What is Strickland doing? He vanished for five months, he wins the Trios titles, and suddenly Strickland finds partners. What’s his plan? Creed says Strickland is teaming with the hottest act in wrestling. Strickland assures that the Trios titles are the most prestigious in pro wrestling. Creed says Strickland is a new man. Kofi adds that Strickland has been cool since their arrival. King notes that it’s only been three weeks… Page says give it time and Strickland will show who he truly is.
Strickland asks how many trios Page has abandoned. It’s only a matter of time before Page abandons King and Bandido as well. Everyone has seen the real Adam Page during his absence. Page isn’t any better or different than him. King states that at All Out, the six best will clash to determine who deserves to represent the Trios division as it should be. Bandido says the Trios titles are coming back to them.
– Backstage, Renee Paquette catches up with Will Ospreay and his partners. Ospreay says Mike Bailey came to help him when he was alone against the Death Riders. So he invited Bailey to join the United Empire. Bailey says he watched Ospreay deliver the best match in All In history. That’s the kind of person he wants to team with, so he accepts the United Empire’s offer!
– After the break, backstage, Thekla is shown. Thekla says she always has the goofy girl and the real girl between them. The goofy one is the one who’s always happy, while the other is merciless. Tonight she’ll accompany her friend to have some fun and enjoy herself. Tonight she’ll be all sweet, but Saturday it will be toxic.
AEW Continental Eliminator – Singles Match
Jon Moxley (c) vs Dezmond Xavier
At the finish, Xavier goes for a Running Knee on Moxley and covers him, but Moxley resists and flips it into a Sleeper. Xavier is forced to submit.
Winner: Jon Moxley by submission
– Backstage, Renee Paquette informs Darby Allin and Steve Borden that someone wants to speak with them. Adam Copeland enters and says Allin has backed him from the start and Borden will be at the top in this business. But he watched Collision last Saturday, and he heard their statements about wanting to face the tag team champions after All Out. Even though Borden will reach the top, Borden will come face to face with a legend. Borden should ask his father what that means. He understands Allin has climbed Everest, but he and Cage are two mountains. Allin replies that the challenge is accepted, with all due respect.
– Back on camera, the Young Bucks arrive to the ring.
