Bronson Reed Responds to Critics Over His Weight Loss

October 15, 2026

Is Bronson Reed less intimidating since his return?

At the start of September, the Australian made his comeback from injury to attack Oba Femi. His physical transformation during his recovery was impressive: he shed more than 20 kilos in five months. But has he lost the threat he posed with that weight loss? Some fans are wondering, especially after last Saturday at Money in the Bank, when the member of The Vision was toppled by Oba Femi, even with the aid of his faction… a harsh blow.

The Ruler was the first to bounce back after a tsunami: is Bronson’s finisher less effective today? Appearing on Rosenberg Wrestling, the Australian weighed in on the matter.

He declares:

“I’ve got plenty of tricks up my sleeve, learned over the years before my time on the independent circuit and in Japan, among other places. I’ve somewhat become a drawing card by packing on more mass. At one point I even reached 150 kilos. I think seeing a man of that size move and accomplish things is always an impressive spectacle, but I have so much more to offer. And I feel that at this stage of my career, it made sense to shed weight, refocus, and show a new version of Bronson that WWE fans may not yet know.”

“Honestly, it really helps my joints and things like that. And I’ve also been weightlifting alongside professional wrestling for years. And having this build has undoubtedly helped me beat my personal records and perform all the bench presses, squats, and deadlifts I wanted to. But today, I feel I move better on a day‑to‑day basis as well. You know, I can play with my daughter more easily. Tying my shoes is a lot easier. I catch my reflection in the mirror after a shower. I’m very happy.”

“I can gain more distance with the Tsunami. I stay aloft longer. I read an online article where people were saying: ‘He’ll lose his charisma by slimming down. He won’t have as much impact.’ To such claims, I respond that I have even more impact now. I remain a powerhouse. I still weigh 120 kilos. I’m still a big guy. It’s just that I’m able to hit with a bit more power and speed now.”

What do you think? Do you prefer the current Bronson Reed or the one from before? Since his loss to Oba Femi, the 38-year-old wrestler has yet to appear in WWE.
