We can clearly state it: Chad Gable’s reign has been wonderful.
The 40-year-old American wrestler has held the Intercontinental Championship for 68 days, and has racked up defenses of iconic titles. First, that wild RAW match against veteran Rey Mysterio in Buffalo in mid-August, and then his defense against Dragon Lee in Mexico last month, where the luchador fought to snatch the belt away. But in the end, Chad Gable remains the one who comes out on top.
It was against another excellent luchador, Penta, that Chad Gable won this title at SummerSlam, in front of his family and friends in Minneapolis. On Chris van Vliet‘s show, Chad Gable revisited the most important victory of his career, on August 2.
He declares :
“A victory like that with your family ringside is almost indescribable. […] and above all, I was able to show my children in the front row and myself, personally, that one can truly pursue and achieve the things one desires.”
His next challenge? Another bout against a luchador! Indeed, next Monday on RAW, Chad Gable will defend his Intercontinental title against the AAA Cruiserweight Champion, the talented Rey Fenix.
