The WPXI media outlet reports this case. In March 2026, a 64-year-old man lost $42,700 to one or more individuals who claimed to be Rhea Ripley, a WWE star. You can imagine, it was a real scam.
The victim refused to cooperate with investigators, according to a spokesperson for the authorities. For now, no arrests have been made.
This isn’t the first time a man has lost thousands of dollars to someone posing as a WWE wrestler. In 2024, a 79-year-old man who believed he was in a relationship with Alexa Bliss had lost $1 million.
