Queen Aminata Opens Up After AEW Grand Slam France, Thanks Parisian Fans

October 12, 2026

She didn’t leave Paris with the belt, but she did leave with stars in her eyes.

On Tuesday, October 6, AEW set up shop in France at the Adidas Arena. The occasion for Queen Aminata, a professional wrestler who spent several years in the hexagon for her studies, to challenge the world champion Mercedes Moné. In front of an audience she knows so well, the challenger gave it her all last Tuesday, even though she did not manage to claim victory against the face of All Elite Wrestling.

But despite this setback, Queen Aminata does not give up, far from it. A week after her match at AEW Grand Slam, she spoke on Instagram, thanking French fans for her return to the country.

She states :

“This week brought me what I had been seeking for a long time: an answer.”

“Sometimes we get so absorbed in chasing our dreams that we forget to pause and remember why we started this journey in the first place. Returning to France, reconnecting with people and reliving the memories that shaped me helped me to gain clarity about my path as a wrestler and reminded me why this dream (now a reality) matters so much to me.”

“I arrived in France with questions and depart with a heart full of gratitude, a clear mind and renewed motivation. Dad, I wish you could have been there to share these moments with me. Sometimes you have to go back to where your story began to understand where your heart truly wants to go. France, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You gave me far more than beautiful memories. You gave me a part of myself.”

What lies ahead for Queen Aminata? Will she get another title shot soon?
