Taya Valkyrie announced her departure from AEW on her social media.
Her representation stated via a press release that she is entering the free-agent market after leaving AEW. It was her decision not to re-sign or to accept AEW’s new offer.
Despite this decision, Valkyrie says she is grateful for her time with AEW:
“I am incredibly grateful for my time at AEW and for the opportunity of having been part of this company. Throughout my journey, I wrestled and worked alongside exceptional talent, I built lasting relationships within the AEW family, and I deepened my ties across the wrestling community. I am endlessly grateful to the fans for their support, not only during my AEW run but also as I begin this new chapter as a free agent. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me, and I still have a lot to give in the ring.”
“Now that my contract has come to an end, I look forward to exploring new opportunities and possibilities as a wrestler, a television personality, and a creative.”
Recently, Taya Valkyrie appeared on the English-Canada edition of The Traitors and she has ventured into singing. As she states, she seems eager to explore these horizons.
Taya Valkyrie had made her AEW debut in March 2023. She never managed to secure a steady spot on AEW shows or ROH shows for reasons that remain unclear.
As of this writing, her husband Johnny TV remains under contract with AEW.
