The classic Waiting Room is set to return to AEW Dynamite on September 9, 2026.
For AEW fans who have followed the company since Day One, you probably still remember the famous talk-show hosted by Britt Baker and Rebel, which welcomed various guests. As the name suggests, the concept was to bring wrestlers into the waiting room of Britt Baker’s dental office, with Rebel co-hosting.
This weekend, AEW confirmed that the Waiting Room with Britt Baker and Rebel will return to Dynamite on September 9 for this special “Rebel Heart” edition. The two will welcome Persephone and Hikaru Shida as guests.
As a reminder, the purpose behind the September 9 Dynamite is to rally support for Rebel, who is battling ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). A serious and progressively degenerative disease that destroys the neurons responsible for movement and bodily function. AEW also plans to raise funds for research.
This will be the moment for AEW to pay tribute to Rebel one final time.
What is the Waiting Room?
For younger AEW fans who may have never watched an episode of the Waiting Room, here is a full segment from the 2020 era. By the way, it’s normal if the wrestlers in the crowd wear masks, as it was the COVID-19 era with mask restrictions and no live crowd :
