Tony Khan addressed the topic of Ilja Dragunov for the first time following his departure from WWE.
During the press conference after ROH Death Before Dishonor, Tony Khan was asked whether he was interested in Dragunov. He replied that he wasn’t certain about his contractual situation, but that he is an excellent wrestler.
The complete answer from the AEW boss :
“I’m not sure about his contractual situation, but he is an exceptional wrestler, absolutely. I don’t know exactly the contractual status of people who don’t work here. I can’t keep track of all these things and there’s no way for me to know, but one thing is certain: he is an excellent wrestler.”
Clearly, Tony Khan appears to be a fan of Dragunov and impressed by his talent.
