WWE NXT: Rey Fenix Retains Cruiserweight Title by Defeating EK Prosper

It was the match of a lifetime for EK Prosper!

During the NXT on August 25, 2026, the 25-year-old rising star challenged AAA’s Cruiserweight Champion, Rey Fenix. The Mexican champion had faced Dragon Lee less than 24 hours earlier on RAW, in Canada. Will that weigh in the balance?

Perfectly introduced by Mike Rome, the two men collided. EK Prosper is as agile as the champion, and he used his own fleet-footedness to trouble the Mexican titleholder. The crowd chanted “Triple A” as Rey unleashed his repertoire of holds. And indeed, the Mexican champion retained his belt thanks to his victory. The Mexican Muscle Buster is far too effective! After the bout, Fenix congratulated his young opponent!
